Apple has just expanded its product lineup with the new M4 chip-powered Mac mini and an array of redesigned Mac accessories, all featuring USB-C. This update underscores Apple’s commitment to efficiency, portability, and improved user experience, especially for those who value powerful tech in smaller packages.
Key Highlights of the New Mac Mini and Accessories
Smaller Mac Mini Footprint:
- The latest Mac mini is drastically smaller than its predecessor, measuring just 5 inches by 5 inches, approximately half the size of previous models. This ultra-compact design is possible due to the power efficiency of Apple Silicon and a refined thermal architecture that dissipates heat more effectively.
- Additionally, it’s Apple’s first carbon-neutral Mac, integrating over 50% recycled materials, including 100% recycled aluminum in the casing, emphasizing Apple’s focus on sustainability.
Two Versions: M4 and M4 Pro Chips:
- Mac Mini with M4: Featuring a 10-core CPU and 10-core GPU, this model now comes standard with 16GB of unified memory, ensuring a significant performance boost for everyday tasks and AI features.
- Mac Mini with M4 Pro: For power users, the M4 Pro variant packs a 14-core CPU with a blend of 10 performance cores and 4 efficiency cores, alongside a 20-core GPU. This version also supports Thunderbolt 5, allowing data transfer speeds up to 120 Gb/s, making it perfect for high-demand professional workflows.
Enhanced Display and Connectivity Options:
- The M4-powered Mac mini can support up to two 6K displays and one 5K display, while the M4 Pro model can handle up to three 6K displays at 60Hz.
